Snug at first is normal; the synthetic upper will soften slightly with wear.
If you’re between sizes and prefer a little wiggle room in the toe box, go up half a size.

For growing dancers, you can allow a small amount of extra length, but make sure the heel doesn’t slip when you relevé or dig your heel.
